Google YOUR Website! - This "Hot Idea" may increase the odds of having Google.com (the Internet's top rated search engine) add your Website to their search engine when you add "Google Free Search" to your home page. Because this tip works so well, I've added it to "all" of the pages on all four of my Websites (more than 1,600 pages total). There are several things you must do BEFORE you add "Google Free Search" to your site. First, make sure the "TITLE" tag that shows up in the menu bar describes your home page. In my case, for this Website, I wanted my name and the words "authors" and "speakers" to appear in the menu bar. The words you use in the TITLE will make a difference in a search engine search on some search engines. Example: <TITLE>Larry James' Authors & Speakers Network</TITLE> Next, creatively write an adequate descripton for the "META NAME Description" in your HTML code that describes your Website utilizing several "keywords" in your area of expertise. Example: <META NAME="description" content="Larry James, speaker, author & author/speaker coach presents resources, tips, books & articles for authors and speakers."> Next carefully choose the correct keywords that visitors to your site might use to get to your Website. Consult your Webmaster. Re-write the text on your home page to include as many of these keywords as possible without repeating them too often. Next, have your Webmaster add the "Google Free Search" engine to your home page and then submit your site to Google.com. This process will teach you patience. From the time you submit your site to Google.com it can take from 45 to 120 days before Google will spider your site to make the search of YOUR site fully functional. That it, IF they spider it. They don't make any promises and say so when you submit your home page. For the "Google Free Search" to become fully functional for searches on AuthorsandSpeakersNetwork.com it took two submissions (each 30 days apart) and 77 days later it worked. When you submit your site, there is a comment box. It seems to help to let Google know that you have added "Google Free Search" to your home page (and others). Next. . . sit and wait! Good luck. Unless you do your own Website, refer the following to your Webmaster: How to Find "Google Free Search" - Go to www.Google.com. Click on "Business Solutions." This will take you to: http://www.google.com/services/. At the bottom of this page you will see the heading, "Add search to your site." Next, look for the sentence, "Offer Google Free Search on smaller public sites quickly and easily." Click on that link. This takes you to: http://www.google.com/searchcode.html. There you will find 3 search options. Your best choice is the third one. It includes two options. One is a radial button to search for www and the other is for your site. Don't stop there. At the bottom of the page you will find a heading called "More Google Free stuff." Click on the "customizable Google Free web and site search services" link. You will have to register, then follow the instructions. Your webmaster can configure the HTML code to allow visitors to search YOUR site first. You can also add a banner image from your Website to make the Google.com search page to look more like your own site. For a tip on adding a special meta tag to your home page that will help the search engine spiders spider your site more often, read the "Hot Tip About Google!" tip on the following page. Click here. Google Tip: For lots of Google secrets, type "Google Secrets" in the Google Search engine below. Remember to change the radial button to "Search WWW" to search the Internet! Take a look at the Google search below. Type in "Coaching" and click on "Google Search" to see an example of how it works!
